4C-FUTURE is a collaborative effort between five diverse organizations across Europe. Our partnership brings together a rich mix of expertise: from academic research and teacher training to on-the-ground classroom innovation and educational technology. Below you can find each partner’s name, country, and a brief description of who they are and what they contribute to the project. This international team is the backbone of 4C-FUTURE – working together to develop, test, and spread the project’s outcomes.
European Projects & Management Agency (EPMA) – Czech Republic: Role: Project Coordinator. EPMA is a Czech non-profit organization specializing in international projects in education and digital innovation. Co-founded in 2004 by Vysočina region with a mission to support the development of a modern and sustainable information society, EPMA has led and partnered in numerous EU-funded initiatives. In 4C-FUTURE, EPMA serves as the coordinating institution, steering the project’s overall management and dissemination. EPMA will contribute to all main project results and will supervise the sustainability of the project. Together with Mise HERo, they will coordinate the implementation of the project in the Czech Republic.
Hellenic Open University – Greece: Role: Academic and E-learning Expert. HOU is a public university renowned for its open and distance learning programs. As a higher education institution, it brings strong research background in pedagogy and experience in developing online learning platforms. HOU’s team in 4C-FUTURE is responsible for creating the Online Training Platform and ensuring the content is pedagogically sound and effective for adult learners (teachers). They also lend their academic rigor to the project’s methodology development, helping to align our gamification and experiential strategies with established educational theories. Located in Patras, Greece, HOU contributes a wealth of knowledge in e-learning, and will also help pilot the project’s approach through its network of schools and students in Greece.
Know and Can Association (Sdruzhenie Znam i Moga) – Bulgaria: Role: Methodology Lead and Community Outreach. Know and Can (as it’s known in English) is a Bulgarian non-governmental organization established in 2007, focusing on non-formal education and youth skills development. The name “Znam i Moga” literally means “I Know and I Can,” reflecting its mission to empower learners with knowledge and abilities. In 4C-FUTURE, Know and Can leads the Methodology Creation work – this includes conducting initial research on best practices for teaching 4Cs, co-designing the game-based learning activities, and structuring the teacher training content. They bring creativity and a deep understanding of how to engage young people in learning outside traditional methods. Being based in Sofia, Bulgaria, they also coordinate the pilot implementation in Bulgarian schools and liaise with local educators. Their extensive experience in European education projects ensures that the 4C-FUTURE methodology is both innovative and grounded in practical know-how.
Mise HERo s.r.o. – Czech Republic: Role: Gamification and Content Expert. Mise HERo is a private educational company (an SME) located in Prague. The name “Mise HERo” hints at a “mission” to empower heroes – and indeed, this organization specializes in innovative training programs, gamified learning, and leadership development. They often apply know-how from the corporate sector to education, fostering skills like teamwork and problem-solving in school settings. In the 4C-FUTURE project, Mise HERo takes the lead in developing the game content and teacher guide (Toolset production). Their team is experienced in designing engaging games that are fun yet educational and writing clear guides so that any teacher can pick up a game and run with it. With a background in using LARP (Live Action Role Play) and other creative techniques for learning, Mise HERo ensures the project’s games are immersive and effective.
Amadora Inova – Portugal: Role: Pilot Implementation and Quality manager. Amadora Inova is a municipal innovation agency in the city of Amadora, Portugal. As a public-sector entity (a company wholly owned by the Amadora City Council), its mandate is to promote entrepreneurship, education, and social inclusion in the local community. Amadora Inova supports startups and community projects, making it a vibrant link between government, education, and business. Within 4C-FUTURE, Amadora Inova is in charge of Pilot Training – they coordinate the testing of the project outputs in real school environments and oversee quality assurance of the pilot results. Their connection with local schools and authorities helps in getting buy-in for pilot activities and in spreading the project’s impact regionally. Each partner brings a unique piece of the puzzle, and it’s through this partnership that 4C-FUTURE can create a truly comprehensive methodology. Collaboration within our team mirrors the very Collaboration competency we talk about – we learn from each other’s strengths. For instance, the creative workshop methods from Bulgaria inform the game designs in the Czech Republic; the Greek team’s platform makes those resources accessible online; the Portuguese team’s pilot feedback helps refine everything to be practical; and the Czech teams (EPMA and Mise HERo) tie it all together with coordination and innovation.
We’re proud of our international consortium and the rich expertise it represents. On this page (and in related blog posts), we will occasionally spotlight the partners in action – whether it’s an interview with a team member, a behind-the-scenes look at a partner meeting, or stories of how partners are using 4C-FUTURE methods in their local context. Feel free to visit the individual websites or social media of our partner organizations to learn more about their work beyond this project. Together, we are committed to making 4C-FUTURE a success and contributing to better education across Europe.
